Welcome to

ST JAMES’ CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Tumuaki | Principal’s Welcome

Tēnā koutou katoa –  Haere mai – We have planned this website to be the place for all things St James’ – information, links and happenings.

Our Vision: To grow Catholic, Christian young people, who are confident, connected lifelong learners, inspired by the teachings of Jesus, and who make a positive difference in their community.

Our Motto: To Live the Truth – Veritatem Vivere – comes to us from St James. We live the Gospel as Catholics welcoming, responding practically and positively.

He Whakaaro Rangatira: Te Whakaruruhau – A sheltering place – given to St James’ School by James Kenrick, speaks of a sheltering place where all people are welcomed, supported and nurtured.

St James’, founded by the Mercy sisters in 1958 – has been quietly shining for 63 years, supporting families to educate their children in the faith. Our call to live this vision makes it real and serves those around us with love. This new website will enable you to find the information you need – please let us know if you would like to see anything else on the site.

Tom Sheehan
Principal

Our Vision

To grow Catholic, Christian, young people, who are CONFIDENT, CONNECTED, LIFELONG LEARNERS, inspired by the teachings of Jesus, and who make a positive difference in their community.

Mon Jul 26 03:56pm

The Manawatu Cricket Association would like to invite students, supporters and staff at St James’ Catholic School to join the Black Caps World Cup Mace tour at Fitzherbert Park on Thursday 29th July from 3.30pm-4.30pm.

Ross Taylor, Will Young and Doug Bracewell will be at Fitzherbert Park with the WTC Mace and we would love to have you and your school down at Fitz to meet the Black Caps, to have a team photo and celebrate New Zealand being World Test Champions. Your players/students are encouraged to wear school colours and we hope to arrange a photo for all schools with the Mace and the Black Caps, as well as the chance to have individual photos and get signatures.

Thanks again for your support of cricket in the Manawatu, we are all very proud of the Black Caps and know that their success is a direct result of the development they get through schools like St James’ Catholic School.
